⭐ Why I Ran This Lake

Hoyt Lake was a convenient choice, and it’s been on my list for a while. I knew I could keep looping the lake to get the distance in.

And that’s exactly what I did—over and over and over again.

🏃 The Run

Twenty miles around Hoyt Lake came out to approximately 18–19 laps. It was definitely a lot of laps, but the busyness of the park on a beautiful day made it easy to get a long run in.

🌅 Scenery Notes

There were a lot of people out enjoying Delaware Park, which made the run feel much less like I was just running laps by myself.

There was even an unofficial St. Joe’s meet happening, with the boys running alongside their brothers and fathers. And those boys were flying.

It was fun watching them come through while I was out there putting in my miles. There were runners, walkers, people enjoying the park, and rowers out on the lake.

Hoyt Lake itself was beautiful on such a nice morning.

🍽️ Post-Run Fuel

After 20 miles, I headed over to the Terrace at Delaware Park for a chicken salad and a Coke.
