⭐ Why I Ran This Lake

Lake Riley was a cute little lake tucked into a park in Rochester. Running here seemed like a perfect way to spend a Friday afternoon.

🏃 The Run

It was just a nice, straightforward training run around a lake in a park. A woman walking around the lake saw me running and said, “You go, girl!” Then afterwards, she told me I was amazing.

It was such a small thing, but those random moments of encouragement from complete strangers can really make your day.

🌅 Scenery Notes

Lake Riley was definitely one of the cuter lakes in the project. There were geese hanging out on the water, with little hills and trees surrounding the lake.

🍽️ Post-Run Fuel

Since it happened to be National Cheeseburger Day, I needed a cheeseburger.

I stopped at Rabbit Hole Tavern and grabbed one on our way back to Buffalo.

📝 Notes for Next Time

I really liked this one. It wasn’t a huge lake, but that’s part of what makes this project fun. There are little lakes tucked into parks and neighborhoods that I probably never would have gone looking for otherwise.

And sometimes you get a stranger cheering you on and telling you that you’re amazing.
